Saturday is the big Rock and Hop Gala Day!

The last event attracted more than 1,000 vehicles, 100 stalls, and approximately 25,000 people.

This huge nostalgia festival has an incredible atmosphere, with many people dressed in their finest 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s outfits. The music is pumping, the stalls are bustling, the dance floor is rocking, and everyone is having a fantastic time.

Cars, caravans, and motorbikes will be on display, lined up proudly across the grounds. Take your time to explore the amazing variety of vehicles, from vintage, classic, and muscle cars through to modern-day favourites. This truly is a celebration of motoring history, with an estimated $30 million worth of vehicles on display.

Our stalls offer something for everyone, including clothing, cushions, food, jewellery, nostalgia items, and much more. Visit the bar area to relax with a drink while enjoying the entertainment on the main stage.

The Best Dressed Competition is always a crowd favourite, with entrants taking great pride in showcasing their amazing outfits.

Heartland Containers Kids' Scavenger Hunt

Young visitors can take part in the Kids' Scavenger Hunt, with the chance to win a fantastic prize - a PlayStation 5, generously supplied by Heartland Containers.

Entry forms are available from the Scavenger Hunt Tent within the entertainment area.

$10,000 Lucky Ticket Raffle

Be sure to get your ticket in our $10,000 Lucky Ticket Raffle. Tickets are available from the raffle tent in the entertainment area or from our roaming sellers. The winner will be drawn live on the main stage at 3:50 pm.

People's Choice Voting

Don't forget to vote for your favourite vehicle in the Participants' Choice/Public Choice Awards. Voting forms are available at all entrances and are included in the registration packs for registered vehicle entrants.

Completed forms must be returned to the Information Tent by 1:30 pm.

Show and Shine Winners Parade

The Show and Shine Car Competition Winners Parade is one of the highlights of the day for entrants and spectators alike. All prize-winning vehicles are paraded through the crowd before being lined up for everyone to admire.

Make sure you secure a spot within the entertainment area for this highly anticipated parade, which begins at 3:15 pm.

Entry Information

Public entry to the Show and Shine Gala Day is by donation to Hospice South Canterbury. Please give generously, as Rock and Hop is Hospice's major fundraiser for the year.

Public admission is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
